The Closson Brothers

Last updated: 2 days ago

Brandon Closson - lead singer, began writing and playing with his older brother at the age of 10. Watching School of Rock sent him to his room writing and singing his first two songs. His magnetic personality and ability to connect with those that watch makes him the perfect front man. Brandon was 15 when he worked with Reba Russell to develop his power and studied under Bob Westbrook (Justin Timberlake’s coach), where he learned how to better shape both his lyrics and chord theory to add depth to his music. He later graduated from the University of Memphis where he received formal musical training. Brandon pulls from his experience and training to write music that incorporates influences from rock, R&B, and pop culture.

Tommie Closson - lead guitar, was surrounded by Rock n’ Roll and Blues sounds that came from his parent's speakers constantly playing. It was quite apparent he had a natural gift and truly an old soul. His guitar style pulls from the eccentric improv of Ritchie Blackmore, the tone of Jimi Hendrix and Robin Trower, with the aggressiveness of Seattle’s finest. His love for guitar driven music whether it be blues, jazz, flamenco, classical, or country can be heard in his note choices and phrasing. He graduated from the University of Memphis by receiving formal musical training under Lily Afshar which opened up new pathways in his voice as a guitar player.
