<a href="spotify:artist:1bLy7ijLaJ9G3WLE1ax4pZ" data-name="The Contradiction">The Contradiction</a> is a Czechia-based metal band, with members originally from Kazakhstan and Ukraine. Musically it's a mix of progressive deathcore & oriental metal. Lyrically it's a loveletter to the grimdark universe of Warhammer 40,000 – specifically, the Chaos space marine legion of Thousand Sons, whose oriental and mystical aesthetics were peculiarly captured by band's music in both <a href="spotify:album:7B3hFnjWRGxhLEy9RaRspr" data-name="Legion: The Rise">Legion: The Rise</a> (2016) and <a href="spotify:album:3LbneKgO1BmIiGNzkuUoOu" data-name="Legion: The Fall">Legion: The Fall</a> (2020) releases, which earned critical acclaim from both community and fellow artists alike (including thrice The New York Times bestselling writer Graham McNeill). There were also some cautious lyrical expansion towards our current reality: a fierce attempt to reflect on human nature, its habit to harm and cripple itself, expressed in <a href="spotify:album:3JU4f12N6UCKOQArMwiVDN" data-name="No Trust in Humanity">No Trust in Humanity</a> (2021).
The band has worked on their music together with Dmitry Demyanenko (<a href="spotify:artist:1DHGS6S7X2lF4cgEa9ErqC" data-name="Shokran">Shokran</a>), Sergey Raev (ex-<a href="spotify:artist:3JC5wZYLLWOWavmvGB94ow" data-name="[AMATORY]">[AMATORY]</a>), Alan Grnja (<a href="spotify:artist:7dfpBi0QvO9FmlhBK6XHwJ" data-name="Distant">Distant</a>), Jacob Wallace (ex-<a href="spotify:artist:180Rv5adp0TxkQUawZM0wG" data-name="Brojob">Brojob</a>) and many others, always aiming to unite a vast plethora of artists from all around the globe in order to prove the unity that music is able to bring. The Contradiction has also shared stage with <a href="spotify:artist:67Zm35qXdPzYfl1c3M0toJ" data-name="Rings of Saturn">Rings of Saturn</a> (USA), <a href="spotify:artist:1DHGS6S7X2lF4cgEa9ErqC" data-name="Shokran">Shokran</a> (RU), <a href="spotify:artist:1GkXxneFQE4d5YTsrbN6Ya" data-name="Traitors">Traitors</a> (USA), <a href="spotify:artist:5vJb4ALVjzp54RZfSL9vtO" data-name="Lotus Eater">Lotus Eater</a> (UK), <a href="spotify:artist:7I2a6G196mt3zp1Qs0EAkj" data-name="The Voynich Code">The Voynich Code</a> (PT), <a href="spotify:artist:5uHdXtqI5H3T17ovMtkqWs" data-name="Marina">Marina</a> (CZ) and others across Europe and beyond.
Their slumber, which has lasted since 2022 due to Covid, the Russo-Ukrainian war, and burnout, finally ends with the arrival of the band's brand new killer track – <a href="spotify:album:6BkMZ9fEXA7DsOy3F9CMys" data-name="Pyrae">Pyrae</a> – closing out 2025 loudly.
