The Counterparts were formed back in 2008 in the city of Brownsville, Texas. The band consisted of Oziel Alvarez (vocals, guitar), Daniel Galarza (bass), and Rodolfo Ortega (drums). Influenced by bands such as <a href="spotify:artist:7Ln80lUS6He07XvHI8qqHH" data-name="Arctic Monkeys">Arctic Monkeys</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0epOFNiUfyON9EYx7Tpr6V" data-name="The Strokes">The Strokes</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0XNa1vTidXlvJ2gHSsRi4A" data-name="Franz Ferdinand">Franz Ferdinand</a>, among others, The Counterparts were known to get people’s arms uncrossed, moving, and dancing. The band played their final show in December of 2012.
