The Cutaway is a six-piece rock band from London. It started life, as so many of them do, in a garage. Founding members, Chris, Oli, Max and Sam bonded over a shared love of such bands as Death Cab For Cutie, At The Drive-In, Arcade Fire, Elliott Smith, Pixies, and Radiohead. The band's music is an eclectic mix of alternative rock and indie folk and the addition of Chrissie and Emma added synths, vocals, violin and trombone into the mix. Debut EP, Golden Opportunities, was released in 2010, and See You Later, Automata followed in 2014. Both offered the listener delicate harmonies and enigmatic lyrics, fist-pumping choruses and foot-stomping crescendos.
