At 3:30pm on 2nd January 2000, we skimmed stones into the waves on Westernmouth beach. As the winter sun slanted in under a bank of black clouds, we vowed to embark on a bold venture: to live a meaningless, but comforting life, devoid of prospects and ambition, cradled in the bosom of soft Devon hills. So began The Dalwood Rocket.

The centre of things from where everything stems is not where The Dalwood Rocket belongs. We celebrate minor places, steeped in obscurity, perpetually off to one side. Dalwood could be anywhere, or it could be nowhere. If The Dalwood Rocket were a car it would be a 1966 Hillman Minx Estate lying mouldering in the corner of a Devon field. We will continue to make music that is empty of contemporary cultural relevance, aiming to capture the moment when a gentle breeze across the grass breaks the silence.

The Dalwood Rocket enjoys a sizable imaginary audience but suffers the occasional brush with real exposure through film and theatre commissions. Except in Egypt, where The Dalwood Rocket has a small and unexpected following through Soundcloud.
