The Darjeeling Feeling exist in the place where the Atlantic waves of Americana meet the shores of indie folk. This four-piece band from Edinburgh have a sound that sits comfortably between artists like Dawes, The Kinks, Josh Ritter, Lera Lynn, Brian Fallon, Villagers, and The Flaming Lips, with some recurring sci-fi themes reminiscent of Bowie thrown in for good measure.
After forming in Edinburgh in 2017, The Darjeeling Feeling went on to release their self-titled debut album in 2019, which was named in Up and Coming Edinburgh’s Top 40 Albums of that year. The Darjeeling Feeling followed this with their EP “The Future is Now”, a passionate trio of songs which blended elements of folk rock, indie and punk.
In 2022, the band returned with a new single "War Stories" featuring rapper Hollerin' Franklin. Written in the shadow of a pandemic and the BLM protests, this latest offering is a protest song which speaks powerfully and eloquently on the legacy of British colonialism. This record sees The Darjeeling Feeling at their very best.
Described as a band with “a knack for presenting well-conceptualised songs” (Divide and Conquer), singles from The Darjeeling Feeling have enjoyed airtime on radio stations in Scotland and England.
