From the bustling metropolis that is Masterton, New Zealand, The Dead Zephyrs have emerged as an unlikely force to be reckoned with in the realm of Rock. Their journey kicked off a decade ago, cutting their teeth during the notorious King Street Live era and honing their craft through covering the greats in the middle of nowhere, center of everywhere. Now they stand as local legends becoming the first band from the Wairarapa to claim the prestigious title of National Battle of the Bands Champions.
Frontman BB Malloy is more than just the slicked hair, he has the presence and voice that keeps you watching. Jordan Tredray is the skin-ripping beat master. Brian Belluomini, who earned his stripes on guitar playing the mean streets of San Francisco. And lastly, Chris Parkinson, the bass-cadet providing the earthy tones. The Dead Zephyrs together infuse their music with artist influences including The D4, Led Zeppelin and Jet. They offer a new approach to Alt-Rock with elements of psychedelia and blues, while still capturing the essence of vintage Rock n Roll from days gone by.
Recently, The Dead Zephyrs completed their Mr Stix mini-tour of 4 NZ centers. The track recorded in renowned LAB Studios claimed the #3 on the NZ Hot Singles chart and gained radio play on their favorite kiwi stations, The Rock & Hauraki. The Dead Zephyrs will continue to captivate audiences and are bound to leave an indelible mark on the New Zealand music scene.
