Touring and recording as part of Howe Gelb's Giant Sand inspired Anders Pedersen, Peter Dombernowsky and Thøger T. Lund to record and self-release the album EliteContinentalCustomClub in 2008 and soon they started opening for themselves at Giant Sand shows. Their second album Offramp Rodeo was released on Glitterhouse Records in 2013, followed by their self entitled 3 album in 2014. Concurrently the band provided the musical foil for a string of singers during the annual Aarhus Festival spanning 8 years. Collaborations included Mark Lanegan, Scout Nibblett, CV Jørgensen, Nive Nielsen, Jason Lytte, M. Ward, Jim White, Agnes Obel, Josh Rouse, Peter Sommer, Marie Frank, Howe Gelb, Saddam of Irmahan, Yasmine Hamdan, Charlie Sexton, Emiliana Torrini, Sarah Blasko, Brian Lopez, Kurt Wagner and KT Tunstall. During that time the band also included Jakob Buhcanan on fluegelhorn, Palle Hjorth on keyboards and Nikolaj Heyman og guitars. Heyman stayed on as a permanent member and played a major role in developing the band's sound, engineering and recording at his Stablesounds Studio. Since Thøger settled down in Tucson, AZ, the low end frequencies have been handled by Henrik "Hands" Poulsen. The DeSoto Caucus' fourth album "4" was released in 2017, and the band is currently working on new material.
