The Diskettes are an indie pop/rock girl-group from Toronto, formed in lockdown in April 2020. We use guitar/bass but we dabble in synths, horns, sound effects/found sounds and the occasional sample. And trouble. We dabble in trouble. Sometimes even double trouble.
“Some of the songs on the have a beachy and ambient feel to them that takes you out of your home and into a magical experience, while others almost sound like a song you’d find playing in a 50s or 60s diner—if diners played more experimental and electronic music featuring synths.”

“The Diskettes draw inspiration from 60s girl groups, but the foursome repeatedly makes a Picasso painting out of their pop and rock sounds, attaching seemingly disparate ideas together into a seamlessly addictive album.”
