The District's music is best described as a mixture of Indie, Jazz, Pop and Funk, with each song drawing from different elements of these genres. Known for their electric and vibrant performances, the Dublin based band has performed across a range of events, gigs and venues, including Electric Picnic, Whelan's Ones to Watch, The Button Factory and the Workman's Club.
Forming in secondary school, the band has grown and evolved together, with current members now performing as a 4-piece band. Initially, the group were largely focused on Indie-Rock, which is heard in their earliest singles dating back to 2020. Keeping this genre core to the sound, the band has introduced influences from Steely Dan, Tom Misch, John Mayer and other such artists into their songs.
Currently working towards releasing their first EP coming off the back of their debut MCD Headliner gig, the District have 2 new singles out now. '1x1', the first single from the tracklist, marks a shift in the groups sound towards an optimistically groovy sound.
