Dullard [duhl-erd]–noun
a stupid, insensitive person.
—Synonyms
dunce, dolt, dumbbell, dummy.
The Dullards are a DC-based Americana rock band featuring song-writers Guy Benson and Alistair Millar, who have been friends and playing together since they were wee lads. They are joined by fellow dullards Andy Neal on drums and Mark Light on the bass.
The Dullards' songs are about imagery: staring out the car window and not getting very far, riding in the back seat of your life, and lamenting that rainy days are like methadone. The band strives for simplicity and straight-forwardness.
One reviewer commented on the Dullards' first record that it "was truly unlike anything that I have heard . . . The vocals [are] very strong, yet subtle, haunting . . . The harmonies were super solid and like ambrosia dripping into my ears."
