The Fires Of is a collective of Canadian musicians that thrives on bringing joy and melody to the people with their infectious brand of indie-pop and high-energy live shows. The strength of the music and wide range of their repertoire is a direct result of the collective nature of the band. Founded in Toronto circa 2008, the band originally met as Ultimate Frisbee players competing at both the national and international level; not the usual stomping grounds for a rock band. The current members of The Fires Of are Graeme Donnelly (vocals and rhythm guitar), Lisa Di Diodato (vocals and bass), Steve Canning (lead guitar), Peyton Leung (violin and percussion) and Greg Heard (drums). Their self-titled debut was released in 2010 and produced by Michael Kulas, guitarist from James. The Noise around the Mean was their sophomore effort released in 2012 and showcases their growth, with straight ahead radio-ready rockers Memories In Flight, the delicate yet strong I Can’t Sleep, and the dark, psychedelic melancholy of Somebody Tell Me I’m Dreaming. The band's third release, The Way the World Ends, was recorded in their home studio and released in 2016. During lockdown in 2020, the band released a 3-song EP titled "This Is Not The End", which included the raging I Don't Care Anymore, the psychedelic Mists and the anthemic Hearts In Riot. Their second full length, "Press On", will be released in 2023. The indie-rock single "Same Old Surprise" will debut in March 2023.
