The Frestonians are a new wave duo, formed in Ipswich 2019 by Peter and Wendy. They blend raw punk energy with new wave melodies to create guitar rock, authentic music that tells their stories. Their sound offers a fresh, modern take on classic influences.
Their debut EP, "Midnight" released in January 2022, was recorded at Audio Labs in Ipswich. Tracks from the EP have gained significant airplay on local and internet radio, and have been featured on Spotify playlists worldwide.
In May 2022, their track "Lock Away My Soul" was named BBC Introducing Track of the Week. The band also received nominations at the NMG Awards in September 2022, placing 3rd in the Audience Choice vote and 4th for Track of the Year with "Midnight."
The "Live in The Smokehouse" EP was released on 1 January 2023 featuring tracks performed live at the November 2022 gig.
The Slow Dance EP, was released on 10 February 2023.
Singles “The Long Road”, “Vibe” and “Fake Friends” were released in 2025. The band were placed 4th in the Audience Choice section of the 2025 NMG music awards.
Latest track Tell Me was released on 21 October 2025.
