The Gambling Lines is a Canadian-American band that started in a Columbia University dorm room in New York City where original members Arieh Soferr and Ben Vermette met. Realizing that their musical chemistry and potential could exceed local venues, they endeavoured in forming a full band with three of their Québec musician friends, Mathis Fournier, Olivier Boutin & Raphael Vermette. Their songs are creative timepieces that aim to permanently seal volatile feelings they've encountered in the high-energy atmosphere of the Manhattan lifestyle.
Shortly after the release of their first album Troubled Waters, they recruited, on the suggestion of Mathis, Isaïe Bolduc as drummer and sound engineer. The official formation of the band took place with Ben on vocals and guitar, Arieh as solo trumpeter, Mathis as bass player, Olivier as lead guitarist, Raphael as keyboardist and Isaïe as drummer.
