Described in a FB comment as "The Middle Earth of Lehigh Valley stoner metal," GFKW stands out in a PA music scene dominated by Top-40 cover bands. With vocals inspired by Thin Lizzy and Dio, the band infuses 70's/80's-era nostalgia with creative hooks, and ultra-fuzzy bass riffs.
Their 1st single, Where Wolves and Wiccans Roam, was released on Halloween ‘21. "I love everything about this track, it’s mysterious, kick ass, elegant and unique all in one! You’ve got those mastery old school vocals mixed with that classic Prog Metal production and it all fits in so perfectly that you really can’t ask for anything more!" - Asphyxium Fanzine
Frontman John Pospischil (JP) initially played drums for the band alongside guitarists Josh Pretko and Jason Douglas, and bass player Sean Cameron. Demo tracks were recorded with JP on drums and vocals. The band wanted to recreate this sound, live. The band called on Tony Lipovsky to try out on drums and after two rehearsals they made it official.
Chumpire Records worked with GFKW to release a 5-song s/t split LP with Neighbor Dan. The band soon inked a deal with Wormholedeath Records to release the EP on a larger scale.
GFKW members have played in a long roster of past bands, including Dragon Green, Stillwater, and more.
"They swerve between genres like ocean currents, unpredictable and with a lot of consequence. Where Wolves and Wiccans Roam is their 2021 single, a pacemaker on Quaaludes." - Sinusoidal Music
