The Gimmick are an indie folk-rock quartet hailing from the city of Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Inspired by rock and folk artists from the 60's and 70's, the four-piece band came up with a solid batch of songs in 2016. With just one acoustic guitar, their voices, a stage piano, a bass guitar and some percussion, they started playing smaller music venues and living rooms in The Netherlands and Germany. Their unassuming stage presence, heartfelt performances and spontaneous interactions with the crowd, quickly managed to win over heart and minds alike in both their home country and abroad.
Over the years, The Gimmick further expanded their sonic palette and gradually traded in the stripped-down approach for a more dynamic and richer sound by incorporating electric guitar, synths, violins and vocal harmonies. In August 2020, the four band members met up at a recording facility in The Netherlands. In just five days, they recorded their first album ('Road To Eureka'), which was released on the 15th of January 2021.
