New single: Comet 059 out now!
The Happy Groover is the brainchild of producer Jonathan Joosten, who is also responsible for artists like Tha Bomb and Remix The Remix. When I Snap My Fingers was the first single by The Happy Groover and was a huge hit in 1998 in The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Israel, South America, South East Asia and other territories.
Following this success, new singles were produced and released using a different Groover identities: The Scary Groover (Children of the Dark Night), The Jungle Groover (Tarzan Boy 2000), The Soca Groover (Jetzt geht Loss). While the concept looked cool on paper, it was a terrible idea. For a while, no Groover releases came out, but producer Jonathan Joosten kept on producing and working as a professional Club DJ.
In 2019, The Happy Groover resurfaced with Hummell Gets The Rockets, a Trance interpretation of a classic Hans Zimmer tune from the movie The Rock, which is also the leader music for a Survivor-like TV-show called Expedition Robinson. In December 2020, Eternity (feat. Heleen de Geest) was released, another radio-friendly Trance track. Heleen reads the traffic info on several national Dutch radio stations and her voice is very popular.
Coming up is We Are Growing (feat. Tpeah), a "Slap House meets Africa" remake of a former #1 hit by Margaret Singana. This track has ‘summer hit’ written all over it, and the expectations are high. Make sure to add it to your playlist.
