The Herbalists is a a project of naive, nostalgic dungeon synth inspired by tabletop RPGs and 16 bit JRPG soundtracks. All music is performed live, with no overdubs, on 2-4 keyboards, and recorded directly into 4-track cassette machine.
The Herbalists tells the tale of an unnamed group of healers, outdoorsfolk, and animists, and their sometimes perilous adventures encountering the mystical beings of the land, and those who seek to exploit it. Sometimes they defend the land, and sometimes they witness the land defending itself. As their travels and harvests continue, they become hardened in their resolve.
