The two core members of London band the Hours have served time in some of Britpop's popular bands of the 1990s. Antony Genn (guitar, vocals) played in Pulp and toured with Elastica, while Martin Slattery (keyboard) toured with Black Grape. Both worked with Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros. Unfortunately for Genn, his lifestyle had led to a serious drug addiction, which caused his health to deteriorate. He had hit rock bottom by 2001 but finally recovered and met Slattery while in a studio with Robbie Williams. Desiring their own successful band, they formed the Hours in 2004. The debut album, Narcissus Road, hit streets in February 2007, while the band's big rock anthems earned support from Jarvis Cocker of Pulp. ~ Kenyon Hopkin, Rovi
