The Humblers are a blistering punk band founded in the country’s oldest commercial BDSM dungeon by two seasoned professional Dominatrices. NorCal pop-punk vet Gloria De Los Cielos (née Anna Joy Esparza) and newcomer Stormy Squires provides bass and vocals. Drum duties are handled by a rotating cast of “Drum Submissives”, whose identities are as secret to the Humblers as they are to the audience. They are also supported by their trusty producer Baz The Frenchman who - despite such impressive production credits such as NOFX, Fishbone, and the Codefendants - generously lends his expertise to assist them with carrying equipment into venues.
Their debut EP, “Pleased To Beat You”, contains fast-paced five songs that clock in just under seven minutes when played straight through. Produced by the legendary Greg Hetson of Circle Jerks and Bad Religion fame, the songs deal with the sometimes unglamourous realities of sex work and the many misconceptions that outsiders have of those who do it. This emerging genre has been coined “Domme Core” by the band and offers a unique, humorous perspective into a once-secretive world.
