The Hush Sound

The Hush Sound began when Bob Morris and Greta Salpeter in 2004 recruited Darren Wilson and Chris Faller. Originally called "the Hush" ("Sound" was added later upon discovering a rapper shared their name), the quickly became the most popular unsigned band in Chicago. Soon after the release of So Sudden, Pete Wentz signed the band to his Decaydance label, an imprint of Fueled by Ramen.

Their sophomore effort, Like Vines, appeared in June 2006, expanding upon the band's sweetly melodic piano-tinkering pop. The Hush Sound retreated to North Hollywood at the end of 2007 to work on a third studio album, and Goodbye Blues arrived the following spring. In 2009, the band announced that it was going on hiatus so that the members could pursue other projects. Subsequently, Salpeter released an album with The Gold Motel and Morris formed mysterious Art-Punk project, Le Swish. ~ Corey Apar, Rovi
