Independent artist The Joshua Band (TJB) blends the soul of classic rock with a fresh, modern edge—delivering bold, Gospel-centered anthems that speak of redemption, grace, and the power of Jesus Christ. Formed in the summer of 2024, the band has quickly gained momentum, growing organically to a peak of more than 115K monthly listeners and almost half-million total listeners on Spotify in under a year.
The band is a collaboration between long-time songwriter/guitarist Mathew Mossburg and acclaimed producer/ musician Jason Hoard--known for his work with some of the biggest names in Christian music. Together, they craft songs that are raw, real, and relentlessly hopeful .
Releasing new music monthly and connecting with fans through live shows and social media, The Joshua Band continues to expand its reach, with a focus on outreach to the Recovery Community and beyond. The lineup includes soulful co-lead vocalist Leah Johnston, a hippie at heart with a visceral and vulnerable delivery influenced by ‘90s alt rock; drummer Jeff Vomero, whose love for progressive bands like Rush adds a dimension rarely heard in today’s rock; and bassist/vocalist Jason Cunningham, whose metal roots and passion for allegory draw inspiration from Christian legends like C.S. Lewis and Tolkien.
This is rock with a message—and a mission.
