The Jungle seeks to carve a fresh path for his brand of r&b and funk music. Sacramento native Troy Jagan taught himself piano at an early age, then cut his teeth playing keyboards and singing in various bands around the northwest, producing beats he would later embellish and experiment with. Wanting a fresh start, he relocated in 2018 from Seattle back to his hometown, releasing a solo EP "WATT+KARL", the following year as an homage to his city and the sounds that influenced him growing up. Through his steady collection of releases you immediately can hear melodic shades of Sly Stone, Stevie Wonder and James Brown, as well as pulse-pounding dance beats akin to modern contemporaries like Kaytranada. The Jungle continues to inspire visions of the past while inviting listeners to see into the future of funk.
