The Kosmics are Southern California’s premier indie rock ‘n’ roll band. Featuring Anthony “Tish” Tichachati (lead vocals/guitar), Sameh Marey (lead guitar), Michael Gonzales (drums/vocals), and Henry Foss (bass/vocals).
The quartet distill the energy and lyrical wit of early Arctic Monkeys records, with the pop sensibilities of Vampire Weekend and The Killers.
Tish and Michael grew up in SoCal, and met as wee lads. They bonded over their passion for music, and specifically their love for The Beatles. They started writing music together, (in between playing Green Day covers) and were the original members of The Kosmics. They recruited Henry and Sameh later on to truly fill out their sound, and add their edge.
What started as a two man garage duo, became the four man rock ‘n’ roll powerhouse of today. With Tish’s lyrics heavily inspired from 90’s Britpop, and guitar lines that show what The Strokes would sound like if Johnny Marr was a member, the band continues to release music regularly as they play across The Golden State.
