The Last Origin is an indie/psych rock and roll band from Bardstown, Kentucky. Formed in 2015 in a cramped bedroom, Grant Howell (Bass), John Anderson (Guitar, Vox), and Kenny Tayce (Drums) started out by jamming on their favorite songs and playing house shows for friends and family in Kenny’s parents house.
With little to no experience on how to be a band, The Last Origin began to play every show they could as well as make a name for themselves with their wild energy and their DIY attitude. By 2017, they had released their first album together as a band, a collection of blues-inspired indie rock demos entitled “The Last Origin”. The band also started touring the same year, playing 12 shows from Atlanta to Philadelphia before heading back to Ky to start recording their next release.
Once the band released their single Your Car in late 2017, their next major release wasn’t until March of 2018, with their second album entitled All We Have Is Rock and Roll and Then We Die This release showed a more down tempo and smoother side of the band. However, the band still kept their wild energy onstage which translated to lots of crowd surfing and an almost sold out album release show at Louisville’s Zanzabar.
The band continues to tour the US and play shows regionally (with a full US tour planned for the summer of 2019) Their third album will be released in mid-2019 with the title “God Keeps Calling” which is a 4 track return to their fast and loud rock and roll roots.
