The Lazarus Effect is a powerful and emotionally charged metalcore project based in Dayton, Ohio, led by brothers Dan and David Jones. After more than a decade in the regional heavy music scene, the duo launched the band in 2023 with a clear mission: to create music that speaks to the pain, struggle, and ultimate hope that defines the human experience.
Blending punishing breakdowns, soaring melodies, and a deep lyrical focus on perseverance, The Lazarus Effect channels the energy of modern metalcore staples like Bad Omens and The Plot in You, while carving out a signature sound rooted in authenticity and heart. Dan commands bass and unclean vocals, while David delivers clean vocals and guitar work that ranges from hauntingly melodic to brutally intense.
Having already played nearly every major venue in the tri-state area, The Jones brothers are no stranger to the stage. With a growing regional presence and a loyal underground following, they are poised to make a major impact with their debut full-length album, Life, slated for release in early 2026.
This is more than metalcore. This is a movement for anyone who’s ever fought to keep going — and refused to stay down.
