The LEVIS are an unsigned up-and-coming 4 piece Indie Garage Rock band formed in North Derbyshire in late 2016. Consisting of Max Stokes on vocals and guitar, Tommy Kearney on backing vocals and lead guitar, Toby Chatterton on bass, and Jack Kearney on drums.
Through years of relentless gigging in pubs, bars and small venues, the band have managed to climb their way up onto the same bill as acts such as SPINN, Casey Lowry, Bedroom High Club, The K's, Jordan Allen, and Delights.
The LEVIS have also played sell out shows at venues such as The Leadmill, Cafe Totem, and The Record Junkee in Sheffield, along with Jimmy's Bar in Manchester and the Chameleon Arts Cafe in Nottingham.
From 2018 to the present day they have had several of their tracks played on BBC Introducing, with some making it as track of the week. In 2019 the band played on the BBC Introducing Quarry stage at Y NOT festival, and were also part of the Tramlines Fringe Festival in Sheffield. Shortly after this the band also featured in the NME x VICE documentary “Music and Addiction”, speaking about what it’s like as an up and coming band in 2019.
The sound of The LEVIS has been described as “raw melodic indie”, and compared to bands such as The Cribs, The Magic Gang and The Strokes.
