The LJ was destined for music from the start. The East African-Canadian rapper, whose roots are on the island of Mauritius, has been immersed in music since childhood, spending his earliest days experimenting with drum machines, keyboards and mixers. Raised in the chaos of Ottawa’s south side, he would later spend his youth living abroad in West Africa and Eastern Europe, all while learning how to engineer, produce and compose his own music. Upon moving back to Canada, he built Ottawa’s most popular recording studio, "The Cave", and started his own label, Cave Music Group.
The LJ's music has garnered millions of streams worldwide, reflecting his prowess as both an artist and engineer who sees every project through from inception to completion. The rapper is a master of his own his unique brand of Hip Hop, which is characterized by hypnotic melodies and raw but cerebral word play.
