The Mad Sugars are the songwriting vehicle of Adam Lawrence, combining the dance rock of Franz Ferdinand, the garage punk of The Hives, and the vocal harmonies and party vibes of The B-52s as a backdrop for stories of nightlife misadventures. Hailing originally from NJ, and later NYC, Adam relocated from New York to Nashville in 2017 and re-formed the band, releasing "Reboot EP" in October of 2021, containing reimagined renditions of older songs for the new Nashville audience. In recent years, Adam has placed his songs in TV shows such as The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Chicago Fire, and Search Party, and released the band’s first full length album “Personal Space” on March 22, 2024.
