The Makemakes story began in a picturesque Austrian alpine lakeside village, where frontman Dodo Muhrer set up a classic rock band with two other fellow musicians. Very quickly and at a very young age Dodo had made his musical project a household name in Austria and had pushed The Makemakes to the top of the domestic charts. Fast success did not stop Dodo from improving himself in order to reach audiences outside of his home country. His electrified pop rock version of DJ BoBo's 1995 Euro Dance smash hit "Freedom" broke top 50 positions within the official German Single charts in early 2019. In June 2019 finally the next single "The Beach" hits stores around the world - Dodo describes the tune as "my psychodelic edgy contribution to the modern pop world, "The Beach" rebelliously refuses to bow to contemporary hit recipes and proudly represents its own indy sound nature."
