The Manikins met in high school and started playing garagepunk 1999 in their hometown Nyköping, Sweden.
After releasing their first 7" called "Don't gimme a choice" on the now legendary label P. Trash records, things quickly snowballed and during the next 10 years the band would release 4 albums and a bunch of 7"s with their mix of garagepunk/powerpop.
They did a lot of touring in Europe establishing themselves as being a great live band, but in 2009 after a 3 week tour in the U.S, the band decided to take a break.
The break lasted 9 years but in 2018 the band returned and started to record a new album. "Bad times" was released in 2019 and got great reviews all over the world.
The band recently signed with Lövely Records and the album "Swedish Woods" is to be released in November 2023.
