When cabin fever struck musicians Sam Unger and Max Schoenwetter during the locked-down summer of 2021, the two longtime friends and bandmates grabbed their instruments and made an escape from their native town of Montclair, NJ to…an actual cabin.
Heading northward for a desperately-needed change of scenery, the two found themselves in the sleepy Canadian border town of Mars Hill, Maine. Removed from the daily fears and divisiveness of our pandemic times, Unger and Schoenwetter found inspiration and renewal in the town’s majestic hills and vivid starry nights, christening themselves The Mars Hill Band.
