The Meltemi is the daydream of a couple of wog boys from the southern beaches of Sydney. Years of being hassled by the surfies for listening to Euro dance music, only fortified their dream of one day sharing a stage with ATB, Rui Da Silva or Darude.
First meeting whilst separately performing at a pathetically small club night in the basement of a Caringbah Businessman’s Club in the 2000s, Adam Bozzetto and Byron Georgouras shared an imagination of something far greater, and whilst Byron cued up another euro-house classic, Adam solo’ed away on a Saxophone like it was a beach in Ibiza.
However, the pressures of growing up separated the pair for a decade, until 2018 when by fate, they once again found themselves behind a DJ booth together on a rooftop at the now infamous Señor Sundays parties. And The Meltemi began.
Named after a hot summer breeze that blows across the Greek Aegean Sea, The Meltemi is a soundtrack to a Summer adventure. Reminiscent of the visuals and themes of the 2000’s, yet sonically inspired by artists such as Nicolas Jaar, Romare, Rufus Du Sol and Four Tet.
