Once upon a time, the Milkmen were those that used to deliver cold fresh milk at the doorsteps of your house: empty bottles left with coins to pay for more milk. Turn the page of history to today and The Milkmen are not what you think.
The Milkmen are indeed an Australian indie acoustic rock band. Listen closely and you can hear years of blended velvet sounding ballads, driving rhythms, catchy and thoughtful lyrics which take the listener from original folk/blues/indie rock/pop to foot tapping pure rock.
Formed and based in Perth, The Milkmen have divided their time between Australia and the UK. Their influences are as diverse as their music, ranging from Dave Matthews Band & Radiohead to Incubus, Oasis & The Beatles.
The band spent time on the road playing at festivals and events around Australia and England. An intense and rewarding listening experience driven by the gritty vocal style of Conor Mcloughlin, the band taps a vein of dirty acoustic rock, striking gold with masterfully layered songs that delve deep into the heavier realities of life.
In 2021 The Milkmen band have emerged from behind closed borders with new single Didn’t Catch Your Name, a hook-laden rock song out March 12. The song is derived from a point of reflection, touching on the vibe that “if I had my time again would I do things differently”.
