The Millennials might be a new project, but the five young men from Copenhagen are by no means new to each other. They have been playing music together ever since they started at the same high-school in a Copenhagen suburb ten years ago. At that time expectations towards the future were high and the realm of possibilities ahead seemed immense. Since then, each of them has felt how life, at once teeming with possibility and strained with expectations and demands, can be a heavy burden for a young man to carry - particularly if you haven’t got the personal resources necessary.
Written from a deeply personal perspective, the lyrics purposefully ask more questions about the world than they answer - a testament to the fact that, that the children of the new millenium are as fragmented as any generation. Rather than ‘the voice of a generation’, The Millennials pose themselves as ‘a voice in a generation’.
