The Miranda Sessions is a project by aspiring songwriter Regina Miranda, a psychologist and youth suicide researcher. The daughter of Honduran immigrants to the U.S., Regina grew up in a bilingual household, speaking Spanish first and then English by the time she turned 5. She took piano lessons as a child but had to quit, because her family could not afford them. But she continued writing poetry and wrote her first song in 2005 (the year after getting her doctorate in clinical psychology), sang it (badly) into a tape recorder, and asked her friends to sing it at her wedding (which they did, a cappella). She continued writing songs, but not having a mechanism to translate the melodies in her head in a way that musicians would understand (given her lack of musical talent), she had difficulty over the years finding anyone willing to help her bring her songs to life . She was finally able to realize her songwriting dream when, in the Spring of 2026 and against her initial "Anti-AI" attitude, she found that she could use AI to take the songs in her head, create demos, and bring them to musicians to record them. Thus was born "The Miranda Sessions," a name derived from Regina's background in psychology and collaboration with "session" musicians.
