Hayes Waring, founder of Olympia, Washington indie label <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Perennial+Records%22">Perennial Records</a>, founded abstract indie pop group the Moving Pictures with Lilian Maring (<a href="spotify:artist:5mUHvPTMAx9FxhO0z4KGS6">Grass Widow</a>) and Charles Waring (<a href="spotify:artist:1KRT2Zu8OMCJuK1ls3kpwz">Milk Music</a>). The group's tense, introspective songs range from bedroom dance parties to dark, crashing numbers reminiscent of the stranger artifacts of the New Zealand underground. The group made their debut in 2016 with full-length LP EMDR, Pts. 1 2 + 3, which was co-released by <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Perennial%22">Perennial</a> and <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22K+Records%22">K Records</a>.
