Noted for their close similarity to classic noise and indie rock bands such as <a href="spotify:artist:3inCNiUr4R6XQ3W43s9Aqi">Pavement</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5UqTO8smerMvxHYA5xsXb6">Sonic Youth</a>, Brooklyn-based trio the Muggabears are guitarist/vocalist Travis Johnson, bassist Emily Ambruso, and drummer Kevin Murphy. Johnson had started the band with a different lineup while attending the University of Oklahoma in 2003. The first effort, Kim Berlin, came in 2004.
