The Nectar is a Fredericton-based indie folk band with a passion for livening up a room. Comprising of a lead singer with a soulful range that captivates our audience; a lead guitarist that closes their eyes while playing to capture something magical; a rhythm guitarist who uses their understanding of melodic theory to capture and highlight the elegance of the story being told; a bassist who uses punk and funk influences to create groovy lines; and a saxophonist who adds a sprinkle of jazz inspired fun to the mix. Lyrically and sonically, The Nectar creates a dynamic experience that ranges from lovely laid back love songs to explosive heart racing ballads.
The Nectar delivers songs that originate from the deep woods of Piper’s Glen (Cape Breton); to the River of Fire (Elsipogtog); to the beautiful Wolastoq river (Fredericton); to the magical streets of Granada, Nicaragua . The Nectar is about getting back to basics, while also engaging in meaningful storytelling. In life, storytelling comes from different parts of the world and from peoples' lived experience. Every aspect of their songs are inspired by their own lives and the stories that they need to share.
