The New Economy

The New Economy is a band from Jena (Germany). Formed in 2004 by Jan P. Franke (vocals, guitar), Christian Komusiewicz (bass) and Torben de la Motte (drums), they used to play Brit-Pop-influenced Indie-Rock and opened for bands like The Kooks or Phillip Boa and The Voodooclub. After a break from 2011 to 2016, when Jan joined the Jena-based „A Little Nothing“, they reunited and recorded their 3rd Album „Desperate People, Dreamlike Places“, which is heavily influenced by Americana, Folk and Indie.
