The Night Lights

The Night Lights is a two-piece electronica/indie duo from Asheville North Carolina. The band consists of Kie Cochran and Danny Peck. The Night Lights produce melodic, electronically rooted songs that can range from beat-driven, epic electronic ballads to more ambient, reflective, and atmospheric sounds. Their music is generally a combination of Danny's sequenced beats, keys, vocals, and manipulations of other analog gadgetry, in equal parts with Kie's sweeping fx-driven guitar and electric bass. The two utilize an array of effect and delay pedals to produce a large, multi-textured sound.

Kie and Danny came together in March of 2011. After collaborating on a couple of projects last year, the two began producing their first EP, and just a week after the release, The Night Lights' humble EP popped up on the front page of Lifehacker.com, a DIY and tech enthusiast blog as a feature to in their "Work Sounds" series, along-side such notable acts like M83 and Boards of Canada.

In just 30 days, the band was already receiving national notoriety, and their introductory EP clinched the #1 best selling album on Bandcamp in their hometown state of NC and also found itself within the US top 10 among new electronica and ambient albums.
