Introducing The North and Wells Band! Artist 12:12 leads with vocals and rhythm guitar. John Love with those silky smooth fingers on the keys. Jake Stopar fills things in with lead guitar and bass. Sam Roth keeps the beat behind the drum kit. The band was formed at The Second City in Chicago working as night staff employees (cooks, dishwashers, hosts) for the theaters. We aren't funny enough to be comedians apparently, so we decided we'd play music together instead. The Second City is located at the corner of North and Wells which is how we, cleverly, came up with our band name. We wanted the name to have some sort of special meaning to us so the place where we all met seemed fitting. A true love story. We like to think of ourselves as a sort of mix between soul, blues, and modern rock. Labeling our music as "this" genre or "that" isn't necessarily something we really even worry about. We are just making songs that we like! As a new, young band, N&W has already played several Chicago hot spots including Reggie’s Rock Club, Cubby Bear, The Second City, and more shows lining up each day! Check us out!
