The North Unknown

The North Unknown is a two-piece, indietronica band, hailing from Manitoba, Canada. Scott Barkman and Jason Plett began the band under unlikely circumstances in 2016, where the text “are you a musician?” avalanched into the creation of a full-length album. Both Jason and Scott come from a rich circle of musician friends and family, many of whom have made their living as musicians. However, keeping true to their namesake, the band kept their existence a secret to the world for three years while in development of their debut album, Vol. 1. Scott and Jason tell stories through the rhythms, soundscapes and lyrics that they create in their music.
