The Not Mikes overwhelmingly loud and fast style of punk rock is what inspired Middletown CT legends Tom Mooney and Thomas Wrann of Two Virgins (now El Trash Combo) to pass down the title of the rudest motherfuckers in the state of Connecticut and The Not Mikes do not disappoint.
The band has always been rooted in the sound and style of the '70s and of course the rawness and dirtiness it had to offer. With drummer and lead singer Zach Fontanez's intensity and unique drumming pattern combined with lead guitarist Matt Kevorkian's obsession with heavy fuzz fueled guitar tone and Tim Butterfield's melodic groove bass style, the sound and style is something unheard of. For a band that is a power trio, they make up for it in volume.
The Not Mikes live shows are their trademark. They firmly believe in the quality of performance and entertaining the crowd, all the while the musical artistry and musicianship is still there.
