THE OATH was born in Lyon (France) during the year 1999. THE OATH is currently composed of Pierre Leone (guitars & vocals), François Tissot (bass guitar) and Christophe Bardon (drums).
Our music is situated at the border of black, death, thrash and heavy-metal. These various influences give to the band’s music this characteristic which makes it a band very hard to label, original and quite effective musically.
After an eponymous 4 songs demo-tape released in 2000, THE OATH recorded at the end of 2002 its second demo entitled “Présages... & Ténèbres”. In 2006, The Oath self-produced its 1st full lenght album, entitled “The End Of Times”.
Motivate than ever, the band decided in 2007 to record its second opus, entitled “4”, in Kohlekeller Studio (Seeheim/Germany) who works with bands such as CREMATORY, ABORTED, POWERWOLF, BENIGHTED ... THE OATH will finally spread its name and music worldwide since 2008, under the banner of the Italian record label Code666 Records.
In 2010, THE OATH approaches a major phase of its evolution and returns to Germany to recorde its third opus " Self-Destructed " and worked since then with the French artist Fursy Teyssier (ALCEST, LES DISCRETS, AGALLOCH...) for all artworks matters.
In 2015, the band returns to the KKS to record its forth opus “Consequences”. and released it with the EU-US-RU-JP Record Label Spliptrick Records.
