The Old Country was born from the creative collaboration between guitarist Ian Alexander and vocalist Sean Aizen Nelson. After years of crafting songs without a singer, Ian—formerly of UNSET and Beauty & The Breakdown—crossed paths with Sean, the former frontman of MEDIA LAB and KILL YOUR NAME. Both widely respected for their songwriting abilities, the two quickly rekindled their creative connection, sparking a flood of new material.Drawing from the energy and emotion of modern metal and post-rock, The Old Country defies genre conventions. Each song reflects their raw passion, written in the moment without adherence to any musical rulebook. Their sound echoes the ethos of the "good ol' days" of music, where success took a back seat to the burning desire to simply play.The band represents a return to the roots of why musicians pick up their instruments in the first place—out of pure love for the craft, when it was all about expression, not ambition.
