The Outlyers are a four-piece Indie rock band based in Oxfordshire influenced by the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:7Ln80lUS6He07XvHI8qqHH" data-name="Arctic Monkeys">Arctic Monkeys</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0epOFNiUfyON9EYx7Tpr6V" data-name="The Strokes">The Strokes</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3MM8mtgFzaEJsqbjZBSsHJ" data-name="Bloc Party">Bloc Party</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:75mafsNqNE1WSEVxIKuY5C" data-name="IDLES">IDLES</a>. The band consists of singer and rhythm guitarist Jake Lewis, lead guitarist Rohan Brazel-Wood, drummer Connor O’Leary and bassist Stanley Tibbetts. The four met at an early age during their school years and have always shared a passion for music which eventually lead to the creation of the band in October 2019. Overtime the band has evolved from playing majority cover sets by developing their sound and creating a wide range of their own material.
Their debut single, <a href="spotify:track:4t1HRgOl9PicRLtSmpa6gz" data-name="Streetfighter">Streetfighter</a>, was released in April 2022 and was written about feelings of frustration and irritation among young people in a post-pandemic world with an uncertain future. The story follows the panic created by a drunken bar fight as a bystander try’s desperately to deescalate the situation. The band are excited to share the debut with the world and looking forward to working on more projects in the near future.
