The Painkill

The Painkill is an extreme metal duo that blends the precision of technical death metal, the intensity of melodic death metal, the aggression of metalcore, the complexity of progressive metal, and the sheer power of groove metal. Formed in 2020 by Jay Miguel Sangiovanni (guitarist and producer) and EJFV (drummer, songwriter, and visual artist), the project pushes the boundaries of metal with a fierce and dynamic approach.

In 2023, the duo began recording their first demos, shaping their signature sound. Then, in 2024, The Painkill released their debut album, Only Jesus Christ Can Forgive a Capital, an intense and relentless work that fuses technique, aggression, and melody into a powerful sonic experience. Beyond the music, EJFV also creates the album artwork and covers, giving the project a distinct and striking visual identity.
