The Philanthropist was inaugurated in the Angkringan Pinggir Kali Code from Yogyakarta, Indonesia and formed by Bayu Aji Pamungkas (vocal, guitar), Ramanda Byan Sasongko (vocal, bass), and Muhammad Gandhi (drum). They formed this band because of the pandemic.
In mid 2021, The Philanthropist released their first song entitled "I'll Be Yours (Home)", then followed by the second song entitled "I'm Trying". In 2022 they released 3 songs entitled "By Your Side", "T'amo" and the last one is titled "We Love What We Do". The songs were produced by Salsa G Kharoris and Salma G Kharoris.
As time went by, they performed from stage to stage, from small gigs to big festivals. With pop strains with a little rock and also affection, their songs are quite enjoyed by many young people. Currently they are in the process of making their debut album which is produced by Zuriel Delpiero, Yoga Bhakti Wikanto and Dhandy Satria (a.k.a Aamaga)
