Originally referred to as ‘new musick’ and driven by a desire to push the boundaries of rock and punk music, post-punk has become one of most defining genres in alternative music since its beginnings in the late 70s.
Continuing in that legacy, Wellington’s The Pink Frosts have sought to channel their varied musical influences, such as new wave, alternative rock, and shoegaze under the guise of idealistic and experimental post-punk.
Inspired by classic acts such as Gang of Four, Joy Division, Public Image Ltd and The Cure as well as modern groups like Fontaines DC and Sleaford Mods – The Pink Frosts create contemporary music for troubled times, both in touch with the past and showing a relentless pursuit of challenging and new ideas.
